Over the centuries this farmhouse has served as a hunting lodge, an inn, a toll house and even, for a short time, as a sort of post office. Walking around here, you will experience the atmosphere of times gone by.
The museum is located on an old Hessen road, which became so busy at one time that the State of Gelderland was granted the right to collect tolls there in 1679. The road was mainly used by German merchants, the so-called Hessen, to transport their goods from Münsterland to Zutphen.
An impressive piece of architectural heritage which will surprise you.
